Beyond hazardous fuels: managing fire for social, economic, and ecological benefits

November 28, 2016 - December 2, 2016

On November 9, 2015 the White House convened a meeting of its Wildland Fire Science and Technology Taskforce and issued a report calling for more effective Federal agency coordination and collaboration among both the producers and users of wildland fire science and technology.

In response to that call, the SW Fire Science Consortium is hosting two concurrent events at the same time and location: the 3rd Southwest Fire Ecology Conference and the 1st Applied Fire Science Workshop. This joint event will provide for a more effective means of linking fire researchers with fire managers and practitioners, and will allow for efficient science delivery through workshops, trainings, planning meetings, roundtables, oral presentations, field trips, and more.
