What: Restoration of Sagebrush Ecosystems Class (NTC# 1730-60). Taught by specialists from BLM, USGS, ARS, and NRCS.
Where: Sheraton Hotel Brighton-Snowbird Meeting Room, Salt Lake City, UT ($124/night lodging, $59/day M&IE)
When: 1:00 pm March 12th – 12:00 pm March 16th, 2018
How: Go to the Department of Interior Learning Center public page and either log in (DOI employees) or request a new account (non-DOI employees) for public catalog course 1730-60. Register by January 22nd.
Objective: Using landscape and site level characteristics, the participant will use a process to plan, implement, evaluate, and maintain a restoration project. Topics covered include:
Landscape characterization and prioritization
Case study exercises using site characterizations and web soil surveys
Mechanical, fire, and fuel break treatments
Seeding equipment and techniques
Implementation, evaluation, and monitoring
