Reisner et al., 2013.
Factors controlling cheatgrass invasions in sagebrush systems, including the influence of livestock grazing, were investigated on 75 sites in the Great Basin. Researchers found cheatgrass colonized areas where large gaps existed between bunchgrass. They conclude that managing grazing to minimize trampling native bunchgrass could help restore sagebrush ecosystems.
