Greater sage-grouse population trends and a targeted annual warning system

Webinar join link.

USGS Scientists, Pete Coates and Cameron Aldridge, will provide an overview of the new USGS Open File Report describing the most comprehensive range-wide greater sage-grouse population analysis conducted to date. During this presentation, they will describe the development of a range-wide lek database and identification of hierarchical population units used to evaluate population change at multiple scales. They will report on population trends across several time periods and will also introduce a ‘Targeted Annual Warning System’ which biologists and natural resource managers can use to identify where populations on the landscape may need additional monitoring or where management intervention may be needed.
